Shocks of Mighty Reggae Band
Reggae music has been around for many years now, and while rock and roll and alternative dominate the mainstream, there are many talented musicians who choose to continue the legacy of the great reggae artists such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff and many others who paired captivating lyrical subjects with the most grooving and steady beats imaginable. Shocks of Mighty continues in this fashion by keeping true to the old reggae tradition of solid musicianship and strong vocalization. Formed in 1996, Shocks of Mighty owes their perseverance to innovative songwriting and top-notch musicianship. They boast a solid resume that includes several albums, multiple compilation appearances and performance credits with some of the best bands and most distinguished venues in Southern California. They have shared the stage with such legends as Jimmy Cliff, Yellowman, Toots and the Maytals, Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus, Barrington Levy, the Abyssinians, Culture, Eek - A - Mouse, the Wailing Souls, and Dave Wakeling (of General Public and English Beat fame). They bring a wicked sound to the stage with rocksteady, roots, lovers, dub - the kinds of reggae that people want to hear and love to dance to. For a classic sound that is true to the roots of the genre while incorporating their own personal influences, Shocks of Mighty has the new reggae sound that gets the dancehall in motion!
