"The FRESH sound of Sheldon's VELVET BARITONE lures you down the twisting and turbulent road of LOVE all the way from the call of SEX IN THE NIGHT as in his songs, 'Come Play', 'Right Now'and 'The Hard Drive', to that BEAUTIFUL AND HIGHLY ROMANTIC LOVE LETTER IN A SONG entitled, 'Dredlocks and All".
-[BioGROOVE, 2001]

Take a Voyeur's peek into the private world of lover's and friends. From the unexpected meeting of two former childhood sweethearts who meet as adults and are about to become LOVERS for LIFE in Sheldon's "Barry White style" ballad entitled "Show You A Man", to his Soul Searching, cultually inspired SPOKEN WORD over Dance track, entitled, "Pan African Express", you will be enthralled.

[BioGRVE.]Sheldon, I noticed that some of your songs have a Caribbean edge, some of them- even a jazzy feel and while others have some very h-h-hot things going on with the lyrics- especially in the up-tempo songs.

[Sheldon smiles] "Oh... you're going there."

[BioGRVE.] Uh huh... Waaay over there. Now... that...um... phone sex conversation over a dance track ...

[Sheldon] "You know, you're a very baaad girl."

[BioGRVE.]You know I love picking at you whenever you come by, Sheldon.

[Sheldon] "Yeah Miss." Sheldon gives a shy but mischievous smile. "You know,
I really didn't expect the great response that I got... especially from the ladies... over a song that's basically all talk..."

[BioGRVE.] And moans and some groans...

[Sheldon] "Ah, yeah and groans too. That's the "Hard Drive".

[BioGRVE.] Even though I might be asking for trouble, first of all...the title...

[Sheldon] "Well, as suggestive as this song may sound to some, people, it's actually an edited version of the original. In that version, while I'm driving home from work, I'm letting my lady know on the cell that when I get there, I want to pick up from where we left off that morning. I take my time to go into some very nice details about how I'd like to express my feelings to her in a very 'physical' way- so basically that's where the Hard Drive " title comes in."

[BioGRVE.] I understand that you were recommended to cut it out of concern that it would be a little too hot for some tender ears?
[Sheldon] "Actually, yes. The original version will be in the clubs. I'm calling it the..." Sheldon smiles, "...Uncircumcised Version".

[BioGRVE.] As in...uncut?

[Sheldon] "Yup... More or less..."

[BioGRVE.] Sheldon, with all the different feels you've got going on in this album... I mean from house to ballads to an 'old school" groove style Reggae with jazz scatting to a even a Bossanova, do you ever get told that it seems like a contradiction of styles?
Admitedly amused, Sheldon smiles, then thoughtfully with the baritone that's becoming his trademark he speaks.

[Sheldon] "I love writing the words in my songs just as much as singing them and I consider this album to be a ...trip...'a journey through moods' and I try to take the listener with me on that trip musically but I do have a central theme as you know."

[BioGRVE.] As I ...so... well know.

[Sheldon] "Basically I was in this state of mind. It's between two and four in the morning, time has stopped, and there's no one else in the world expect you your lover and a whole lot of exploration to be had. My songs are hot but they are about people who are IN love and who are SHARING that love INTIMATELY with no holds barred. And I think that now the way life is, these days it's a damned good time to get caught in into the one you love. It's rejuvenating. Sheldon closes his eyes and ponders for a second -then smiles with some secret thought or memory."

[BioGRVE.]Your CD single entitled, "Making Love"- 100% of the income from it's sale is going to the American Red Cross.

[Sheldon] "Yes. There was an article that caught my attention in the newspaper not too long ago. I can't remember the exact phrasing but the title read something like, 'Some wounds don't heal with time.' Now me being the hopeless romantic that I am, I'm very familiar with the phrase of time healing all wounds and I know that in love it can take what seems like forever a broken heart to heal. So I read further as they spoke about all the women, men and children who are still suffering after the horrible events of September 11th as if the events just happened yesterday, emotionally from people they lost or just the shock of the event even if they didn't loose someone closely related, and also some people suffering physically and financially. It seemed like one decent way to help the process along. It was great that CD Baby
saw fit to make the provision for the artists, for this purpose, like they did."- (Excerpt from BioGROOVE Interview, 2002)
