A combination of 5 string 7,9 and 11 string bass. I dream of a world where all bassist and arrangers can walk hand in hand and........somebody stop me! :-)
This bass project was created as an example of ERB possibilities. I'm playing the guitar sounds on my 9 or 11 string bass. Some of the keyboard parts and
horn solo's are from my MIDI basses. I love melody. I look forward to exploring the unlimited possibilities of these instruments. I still love to play my Adler 5 string bass or my Benavente 5 string Jazz bass. The meat and potato of bass is still playing in the pocket. I hope you like the grooves that i've come up with. I use the Extended Range Basses as a synth player would control an array of sounds. I'm working on music from a new perspective for me. Music is the richest form of art to me. It's Sonic Power! I hope you enjoy the music. I really love to play and the 11 string bass is my greatest challenge. This tool will help me find the sounds that have elluded me as a foundation player. I named the cd "Forbidden" because of the rules I intend to break. In my mind......................I hear.....................MUSIC!! Al Caldwell
