When one talks about jazz in Tunisia, the name of Fawzi Chekili would come instantly in mind, Fawzi Chekili has been leading several jazz projects over the last thirty years, not only performing as a fine guitarist and composer but also creating several events featuring world renowned jazz artists.


His performance credits include Glenn Ferris, Deborah Brown,Didier Lockwood.....and many others

"Taqasim" is his first cd featuring original compositions that show the artist's diverse influences such as his native tunisian roots, yet never leaving the jazz-based improvisational formats...On this cd, Fawzi Chekili brings some jazz musicians from Holland to meet with tunisian talents. Fawzi plays a 175 gibson guitar, keyboards and the udgé, a hand made string instrument of his invention. This debut cd has won Fawzi Chekili national and international acclaim.
