- in 2003, vienna-based musicians agnes heginger (vocals) and georg breinschmid (double bass) met and started doing jam sessions together; from these sessions a lot of things developed that can now be heard on their first album, "tanzen". it is not easy to describe or categorize the music they are creating together - but it blows people away!!
both agnes and georg have a musical background ranging from classical music (agnes for example also performs with ensemble mikado, an award-winning ensemble doing medieval and renaissance-music - www.ensemblemikado.com - and georg is an ex-member of the vienna philharmonic orchestra) to jazz, rock, pop, free improvisation and more...
...one of the novelties they are introducing with this cd is the art of spontaneous text-improvisation, for which they use a variety of sources; sometimes self-written lyrics in a kind of abstract fantasy-,dada-language, very often also passages from trash literature magazines, like "western"-stories...
