The Dudley Moore Trio recorded these brilliant live jazz performances during the 1970's in England and Australia. Dudley Moore, piano; Chris Karan, drums and Peter Morgan bass play a dozen jazz standards and originals on this CD. Dudley Moore's jazz style was influenced in his teens by Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson, who were his two jazz idols. He was inspired by them to stretch his style, while avoiding the eccentricity he found in some jazz artists. Martine Avenue Productions, a company co-founded by Dudley to bring his music to the public, is presenting this CD in his memory. Proceeds from its sale will support two organizations that were close to Dudley Moore--Music For All Seasons, bringing the healing power of music to those in institutions such as hospitals, nursing homes and special facilities for children; and the Dudley Moore Research Fund for PSP, searching for a cure for the disease from which he died in March of 2002.
