Round Midnight is a quartet of musicians who share a love of jazz, and get together for the joy of playing........and it shows ! We are: Peter Carey ( guitar )
Peter took up violin at the age of eight, and played in small ensembles and school orchestras. However, growing up in England during the sixties, he was soon attracted to Pop music and guitar playing . Friends introduced him to the music of Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Elvin Jones, and Dave Brubeck. Peter's first professional job was in a band playing a summer resort on the Isle of Wight. This led to touring in Germany opening for Jr.Walker and the Allstars, England, where he backed visiting American artists and throughout the United States with the Association. Settling down in the Bay Area Peter played for many years at the San Jose Hyatt with Felix, and then came stints with No Respect, Speakeasy, and Rumours (a tribute to Fleetwood Mac) where he met Harold Martin. Most recently, he left local band " Sage " after a five year stint as their guitarist. ( www.sagemusic.com )

Harold Martin ( bass )
Harold's first professional gig was at the tender age of five singing with his guitar playing mother, Thelma at an auction ! Harold has played in bands such as The Killer Bees, The One, The Pat Tinney Group, The Jesse Charles Band, Rumours and RSVP. He has opened for Eddie Money, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, The J. Geils Band, Edgar Winter and Ronnie Montrose amongst others. Harold's influences include Jaco Pastorius, Ray Brown and Ron Carter. See another of Harold's bands at www.ptcruzers.com . " I like playing very quietly now that I'm over my Rock Star era ! There's nothing better than playing Smooth Jazz and sipping a diet Coke ! "

Bryan Yoshida ( keyboards )
Bryan's eclectic taste in jazz brings real diversity to Round Midnight. He is equally at home playing " Cast your Fate to the Wind " by Vince Guaraldi or " Aja " by Steely Dan. He took up piano at the age of six when he heard Richard Nixon play and said to himself " Gee, I can play much better than Dickie!" He started touring America at age nine because he got expelled from school due to the music teacher's jealousy. Brian is the consummate musician, whether writing, arranging , or performing. His talents also include programming and sequencing and picking diversified mutual funds. Bryan has played with such diverse artists as Jeff Ward's Moog Bogarts, Rick Lux and the Dawdlers, Jesse Hasheadu Pass Band, Phil's Ace Shio Band. You can catch him every October sleeping on Maui.

Robin Cortez ( Drums )
Robin grew up in a musical family. His dad still plays the tenor sax and his brother Jerry plays guitar. Robin took up the drums at age 11 and quickly joined a drum corps and jazz band in Junior high and high school. Robin has been teaching since he was 17 and he has studied with Forrest Elledge, Dick Carlo, Dan Sabanovich, Curt Moore & Narada Michael Walden. His biggest influences are Mitch Mitchell and David Garabaldi. Robin has toured the U.S. with several bands playing the college circuit. He played with the Garcia Brothers band and during that time also was a studio drummer playing on several Grammy nominated albums. Robin has been involved with N.A.R.A.S (The Grammys) since 1978. He still loves being a student of the drums himself, embracing all the different genres & styles. Robin says getting in the groove (& swing) with Round Midnight is a real treat.
