A straight-ahead swingin' jazz record. A bit of the classic "Blue Note Era" Quintet sound, mixed up with some cool and funky modern twists. There are some up tempo swingin' things, some breezy Brazilian stuff, some intense African rhythms, and some lovely & haunting ballads. Kyle is featured on Tenor & Soprano saxes and flute, and is joined by trumpeter Larry Williams on nine Kyle originals. Also joining him are his long time band mates Hussain Jiffry on bass, Jason Harnell on drums, and Steve Weingart on (a pre-fender) Rhodes piano.

Saxophonist/ Flutist & Composer Robert Kyle has performed and/or recorded with Michael Bolton, Linda Ronstadt, Carol King, Brenda Russell, Lou Rawls, Della Reese, and many others. As a twelve year member and current musical director of blues diva Linda Hopkins band, he has performed all over the world. He has released six CD's under his own name and his top-notch band has played at many of the top festivals around southern California. The band plays a wide variety of instrumental music including straight-ahead and Latin & Brazilian Jazz. He lives in Altadena,CA, and when he's not touring, he keeps a full performance schedule, as well as staying busy in the recording studios.
