Marc Rogers was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, however his family lived all over the United States and Canada, moving frequently throughout his childhood. At age 16, while living in the isolated small town of South Porcupine, Ontario, he began teaching himself how to play electric bass.

A year later he moved to Vancouver, where he was first exposed to jazz and picked up the acoustic bass. During this time he worked with such musicians as Chris Gestrin, Brad Turner, and Randall Stoll. He recorded for TV shows including Highlander and M.A.N.T.I.S., the film Crash, and video games including NBA Live and Need For Speed.

Realizing a deep need to explore his interest in jazz, Marc studied in New York with John Patitucci, Victor Bailey, and Lincoln Goines. From there he travelled south to attend North Texas State University. It was there that he played and/or recorded with Norah Jones, Joe Lovano, Mike Stern, Lewis Nash, and Kenny Wheeler.

Upon completing his studies there, Marc relocated to Toronto in 2000 and was soon playing with some of Canada's top jazz musicians such as Dave Restivo, Don Thompson, and Kelly Jefferson. He also became a first call amongst major label popular artists including Jarvis Church, Holly Cole, and crossover classical violinist Lara St. John. In his spare moments, he has filled in with world fusion acts Cruzao and Autorickshaw.

In 2003 he recorded his debut solo album, LUNASA, featuring Dave Restivo, Kelly Jefferson and Brooklyn drummer Bill Campbell, as well as special guests Nick "The Brownman" Ali on trumpet, and Toronto singer/songwriter Karen Kosowski.

Marc Rogers is currently performing, touring, and recording with many Canadian acts, including Jon Levine, Michael Kaeshammer, The Karen Kosowski Band, and Gruvasylum. He performs semi-regularly with The Marc Rogers Quartet. For more information on Marc Rogers please visit www.marcrogers.com.
