All Genres > Jazz > Traditional Jazz Combo > JAZZ ETHICS: Adages

THE NAME: The name really doesn't pertain to a form of music. (Even though the band features their own arrangements of classic jazz standardsa. It is more a play on the 'positive-negative' angle:

'jazz' - a free-style art form, open, with no boundaries, and

'ethics' - strict morals, more ridged and specific.

This is exactly what Jazz Ethics does with their music. They will take you down many musical avenues, on an unrestricted pilgrimage, but reflect traditional musical images to get their point across. The result is like 'salt and pepper' or ' sweet and sour,' - two distinct ideas that somehow are compelling when combined.
