JANA VACCARO was born in Liverpool, England to show biz parents. Her Dad was a big band pianist and conductor. Her Mom, Dorothy, received the Order of the British Empire Medal (BEM) from the Queen of England, for having the longest running live talent show in England. With the support of husband Michael, who is also the bass player, arranger, production manager, and sometime vocalist,jana has performed in Europe, Australia, & Canada. Credits in the USA include stints at New York's Copacabana, Drake Hotel, Hilton Hotel and Waldorf Astoria. In Las Vegas, multiple returns to Caesars Palace, MGM hotel, Frontier Hotel, Aladdin & Riviera, as opening act for such names as Sinatra Jr, Vic Damone, Ray Anthony band, Wilson Pickett, and many more. Michael Vaccaro produced this one with the SECOND CD DUE TO BE COMPLETE IN THE FALL OF 2003. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR "NO REGRETS". Jana's longevity in show business is due to the fact that she loves show business, including her latest venture of filming commercials. With the help of some excellent musician friends, Jana now offers a special musical tribute to some of the finest composers and vocalists in the world. If anyone has visited Las Vegas in the 70's, & 80's, ,,chances are you had a chance to see Jana work the lounge audience in the tradition of Louis Prima, & The Checkmates. This CD reflects the many moods of Jana. The Dixieland rendition of "Gimme a Pigfoot" (a Bessie Smith tune recorded in the 30"s), Jana shows her sense of humor and bright personality. "You'll never know" is a WWII ballad about her guy going to war.Is that HARRY JAMES on the trumpet solo? No..It's Ed Sherry from the Orleans Hotel in Vegas. The Don Burke horns performed the authentic and exciting sounds of Dixie on this one. In "Never let me go", Jana and Pat Rizzo on soprano sax interact to tug at your heartstrings and emotions in a sensitive and yet exciting rendition of this wonderful tune. Andy Fraga is on piano. Andy Fraga Jr is the drummer. To get a different flavor on some of the tunes on the CD, Michael chose to bring in Ron Kalina, who is also a pianist and conductor for some well known entertainers. Ron is playing harmonica on this one. "Only trust your Heart" is a tune that Michael wanted to treat slightly differently. Thus, Ron gets a chance to perform a wonderful solo with some interesting licks on the harmonica. Ron also does a great solo on "But beautiful." Dave Stanbaugh, a Las Vegas very talented musician speaks for himself in the opening tune "I love being here with you". Dave is worth listening to. A musician's musician!!! The song was recorded by such greats as Peggy Lee, and Ray Charles. Dave also breaks the sound barrier on "Let me Love you"..and "I'd know you anywhere". Track List: 1. I Love Being Here With You 2.
