The Jeff Goldstein Group is new on the jazz scene this year. The artists all come from Minneapolis, Minnesota, which is a hotbed for jazz talent. This new CD entitled Mount Jazz brings together classic and Latin influences to many original tunes. If you enjoy artists such as David Benoit and David Sanborn, then you will love this CD. The horn section is enviable with the likes of Kathy and Dave Jensen who have recorded with Prince over these many years. Tom Lieberman on guitar is best known for his work with the group "Rio Nido" in the late 70's. Peter Vircks on tenor sax is the lead in the recording group "Moveable Feast", which is a jazz group that emphasizes the funkier side to jazz. Phillip Crump on Bass comes from Philly and switched from blues electric bass to acoustic bass. Phillip's rhythmic approach to jazz is unparalleled. Kevin Teachout on drums is our "rock solid" epicenter. Jeff Goldstein studied classical music for many years before hitting the jazz scene in 1998.
