OUR GOAL IS THE SAME AS OUR REWARD The image of a race is drawn in Phlippians 3:14. The prize is placed at the very point (mark) the race is to end. The thought of it roused Carlton to strain every muscle and nerve, and to forget everything but their one objective. Carlton is looking solely towards the prize, which consists not of any material reward, but of God's high calling. The prize is for those who adhere to the higher call, which takes on the form of God's summon to inherit eternal life. The victor will hear the voice which says, "Well done good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of the Lord." Carlton guards against a type of ministry which rests on outward performance, self-complacency, remain as you are. We are striving for an end which is still far beyond us. Even with the success of their first release, Carlton does not count that as having attained, or as having reached a state of fulfillment. Meaning, when something has become in fact what it was ideally meant to be. We know that through Christ we have access to a higher world. We rely on spiritual motives and seek the righteousness of God. So as servants we have before us an endless field of endeavor, and can never assume, while we live in this age, that task is finished. Paul says, "Yet I'll follow on, in hope that I may apprehend that for which also I was apprehended by Christ Jesus." Seeing that we are apprehended, our power to go forward depends on what Christ has done for us. Christ has laid hold on Carlton for the one purpose that we may at last gain it. The action of Christ must precede any action of our own. In other words, we love, because He first loved us. We forgive, because we are forgiven. We sing because He placed a song in our hearts, and we play because above our heads there's music in the air. By the grace of God, each lap Carlton takes raises the bar in Gospel music. As you listen to the tremendous harmonies, the unique compositions, and the skillful instrumentations, along with the incredible lead tracks, we think you will agree that Carlton's inspiration is from beyond. However, all that talk about perfection and greatness, as many are indulging in, must remain meaningless to Carlton, for we belong to a new community, a mindset that there is always a height which has not yet been attained. Through trials, struggles, Carlton will confess nothing but victory, because we are more than conquerors, and we are... IN PURSUIT Track List: 1. Praise 2. I Really Love the LORD 3. Reprise 4.
