"Blue Mammoth Entertainment proudly announce the release of 'Sasi Shalom Quartet''s "Endless Nights". The Group was formed in the fall of 1996 by Israeli Pianist/Composer Sasi Shalom and features Peter Steve Hass on drums, and an alternating tenor Sax chair which includes, Donny McCaslin, Jacques SzwarcBart, Ravi Coltrane and Ole Mathisen. After an incubation period of writing and long early morning jam sessions, early spring 1997 marked an appropriate time for this fledgling unit to finally record. " ...Sasi appreciates music from all aver the world and has incorporated this diversity into his writing and improvisations. This direction was further encouraged when he came to New York City and collaborated with musicians such as Buster Williams, Al Foster and Donald Harrison. Sasi cultivated an ever growing sense of melodic simplicity and taste. He is ever-present in a music scene fertile with some of the finest young pop, rock, folk and jazz talent and this is an important factor which partly explains the significance of the new release "Endless Nights". Beyond the formalities, this group has a lot more to say than mere notes, techniques or styles. As Charlie Parker once said: "Learn it all and then throw the book away...find your own way. " When all is said and done...the facts and figures aside...what is most important is the music....." Jim Georgiou Nov. 97 Track List: 1. If I should loose you 2. Cat in a hat 3. Dat Dere 4.
