Introducing "Losing You" (The 9-11 International Anthem)

The devastating attacks of September 11, 2001 claimed the lives of individuals from virtually every nation on the globe. We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims and their loved ones. To commemorate the thousands who died on this infamous day -- and those who continue to die at the hands of terrorists -- we have decided to dedicate the Lost Souls CD to all victims of acts of terrorism, and especially to those whose lives were so deeply touched and changed by the events of September 11, 2001.

9/11, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL

On this infamous day the world changed forever. Still, not only does the terrorism continue to accelerate, the calamities have begun to proliferate. Bam, Iran with over 41,000 dead is but another example of what the future holds for humanity. It seems that fear, based on either acts of God or acts of man (terrorism for example) is destined to rule. Quantum-Music is anti-fear music. "We can either fear that human culture is falling apart or we can hold the vision that we are awakening. Either way our expectation is a prayer that goes out as a force that tends to bring about the end we envision. Each of us must consciously choose between these two futures." (JAMES REDFIELD)

If indeed art does imitate life, it follows that songwriters who are connected to "The Creative Source" would naturally be inclined to express their feelings about what is happening in the world, in the form of a song. The two songs on my CD "Losing You" and "Life Is Love Is Music" contain my words of hope and harmony, connecting people though words and music. "Losing You" simply reflects upon what is happening today on the fear side of the equation. "Life Is Love Is Music" offers a way out of the madness.

Some say that madness is a way of life. Others say that only love can conquer fear. A fan said, "I put on that music and I sang. I just kept singing to it. And it really helped to heal things. It really helped for the fear to dissipate." What better way to honor the memory of victims of senseless acts of violence or terror than with a song of hope and healing? What better way to demonstrate that human culture is not falling apart, that they did not die in vain?

The Lost Souls CD is the product of a French painter, a German recording engineer and an American songwriter-musician. In the post September 11, 2001 fear based reality, the three have elected to put aside their cultural/ethnic differences and collaborate on an initiative that fosters cross-cultural dialogue, harmony and understanding -- to help make the world a better place.

THE DANIEL PEARL MUSIC DAY

The Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, also musician, was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in February 2002 while researching a story. The Daniel Pearl Foundation (www.danielpearl.org) encourages musicians and performers to dedicate a performance with a message of tolerance, understanding and global harmony. In answer to the clarion call promulgated by the Daniel Pearl Foundation, I intend to officially dedicate my composition "Losing You" (The 9-11 International Anthem) to the memory of Daniel Pearl at the proposed concert scheduled to be held on or about 10 October 2004. Our TAXI Review:

Artist Name: Q
Song Title: Losing You
Style: R&B, Smooth Jazz, Quantum-Music
Melody: Good melody and contrasts.
Structure: I feel that the spoken section works well. The structure works well for this song.
Lyric: The lyric works fine. This song isn't about cleverness, it's about feelings and as such, sets up different expectations. It's well expressed.
Title: Works fine.

Overall Comments: The appeal here is the sad vibe. You've put it together well. The instrumental arrangement, vocal harmonies, expressive solos, great mix and a wonderful lead vocal all contribute to the cathartic effect. Best wishes with this.
