Morris Rentie, Jr.
(918) 270-1000

Biographical Sketch

The resurgence of live musical instrumentation with hip hop elements of street expression are the essence and foundation of the "Morris Rentie" sound. Funky bass lines, hardcore drum beats, and melodic vocals layered over aggressive, but passionate chordal progressions are the components of his creative musical force.

Rentie was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the age of 3, he discovered a love and passion for music when he received his first Guitar as a Christmas gift. Since that time, Rentie has mastered the Bass, Guitar, Piano, Sax, and Drums. As a Bass player, he has the technique of Stanley Clark, the skill of Jaco Pastorius, the aggression of Larry Graham, and the funk of Bootsy Collins. By combining his demanding and commanding style of musicianship with his God-gifted abilities of song writing, arranging, and producing, Rentie's sound is a phenomenon in Urban Music.

He has worked in different capacities (writer, producer, co-producer, musician, and advisor) with many artists and all major record labels. A sampling of his work is provided on the attached discography. Rentie is currently completing two new albums, producing several new artists, and composing a movie score for Mandalay Films. In addition, he owns and operates Digital Disc Recording Studio and is developing a new entertainment conglomerate, the Omnipotent Entertainment Group, that will specialize in music production, direction, and supervision; film scoring; editing; engineering; and all aspects of audio and visual entertainment.

Morris Rentie's knowledge of music and the recording industry give him a competitive advantage in what can be a very ruthless business. Because of his experience and musical genius, he is able to work with some of the most talented artists while continuing to create music that appeals to the youthful and the wise. Rentie is totally committed to giving quality music to the fans of R&B, jazz, soul, pop, inspirational/contemporary gospel, and hip hop without forsaking creativity and instrumentation. Equally as important, he remains steadfast in his desire to give our youth of today (who are our entertainers of tomorrow) exposure to all that the recording industry has to offer.
