New Children bring a fresh face to the music industry. Combining the sounds of old-school fun and R&B to smooth jazz. Mix in some little light-hearted lyrics and a jungle, a Doctor and a mental hospital and you get a cd that makes your head, feet and other parts of your body move to the grooves. New Children is a collaboration of music from Juan Nelson and Michael Doles. When asked to describe the music of New Children, Juan says "Our songs are like our children; each with it's own individuality." So with each new song written, a new child is born This project has been in the making since the two songwriters met in 1999. They were part of the regionally successful Voice & Hand, who produced 2 CD projects and then called it quits. Mike and Juan continued writing and recording which has lead to this debut CD by New Children, with a second project in the works. Mike's imaginative and expressive work on keys combined with Juan's wantonly prolific bass rhythms combine to create a most unique flavor of raw funk and tantalizing melodies.
