"almost done" was recorded at my home studio in rome, ny. i have been playing saxophone since the 4th grade and along the way have learned enough guitar, bass and keyboards to compose, arrange and play all the parts on the cd. the entire process took almost two years to complete.
this is my first full scale assault of an original body of work although i have recorded with many others in the past. i even helped john sebastian ("welcome back") unload gear from his car when i was doing some recording in woodstock, ny. my musical history also includes a couple of bands that only a handful of fans might be able and willing to remember including "tappin' at the met". we started in boston and wound up in new york city from 1977-1985. at our peak, we wrote and performed an off-broadway show called "swing's the thing". most recently, i perform with "the no budget orchestra" around central new york. the songs from "almost done" were pulled magically from the sky almost like i had this great big antenna sticking out of my head. obviously i could not wear a hat during my recording sessions. some days the reception was great and other times i should have stayed out of the studio and washed my car. the songs are upbeat, fun and go great with a sandwich.
