My name is Jimmi Vaughn. I am the son of rhythm and blues legend Jimmy Vaughn and Clara Vaughn. I started playing music at the young age of nine. My first instrument was the trumpet, which I played for ten years while in school. After finishing school, I was immediately drafted into the army. There, I met a young man named Raymond Partee'. It was under his instruction that I became acquainted with the bass guitar. Upon my service release, I began playing with local bands such as the "Ingram" brothers, The Jimmy Vaughn Trio, the Blues Innovators, The Onyx Band, and the MIA Band.
