Here we present a collection of Adam Swanson's favorite tunes. The title can be misleading, becuase those who know Adam also know that he has endless favorites. This album, recorded at home on his Yamaha C7 grand between Aug. and Oct. 2005, includes 19 songs that range from the king of all rags to the first syncopated waltz ever published, Echoes From The Snowball Club. Piano solo performances of compositions by "Eubie" Blake, Scott Joplin, "Jelly Roll" Morton, Harry P. Guy, Walter Donaldson, "Zez" Confrey, George L. Cobb, Charley Thompson, W. C. Handy, E. Harry Kelly, Ray Henderson, Cy Coben, Creamer & Layton, Will H. Tyers, and Joe Jordan. Adam Swanson is a 14 year old from in Dansville, Michigan, although this album was recorded when he was 13. He fell in love with ragtime after hearing Fig Leaf Rag and a few Jelly Roll Morton tunes on his grandparents' Web TV. He has been playing the piano for about 4 years and is a three-time Jr. Champion of the World Championship of Old-Time Piano Playing Contest in Peoria, Illinois. Adam performs frequently at local senior centers, churches and restaurants.
