REVIEWS THE WALL STREET TRANSCRIPT "YARDENAis a vivacious ,sultry torch singer with good stage presence.she's an attractive women with a rich ,very musical voice.sensuality flows thru the room when she floats her gutsy blues into the air:her low notes will give you shivers .she plays in clubs around town-- look for her" YARDENA Spanish spice, rolled Rs, and piercing piano are this jazz vocalist's tango-tongued tools. Her unsubtle band bangs and bounces alongside her fiesty, fiery voice, making me forget that I usually discredit creamy-voiced singers as cartoonish.Wanna be transported to times long ago on continents not your own? Me neither, but enjoy this music anyway for its thrilling, thumping theatrics. Dec 26, 02 Daniel king The village voice CADENCE 'Yardena is a vocalist doing upbeat standards and on occasional ballad on YARDENA SINGS SWING ,LATIN& BLUES...SHE HAS THRATY ,SENSUOUS VOICE AND SINGS WITH AN EXUBERANT AIR. YARDENA HAS SURROUNDED HERSELF WITH STRONG PIANO-LED COMBO THAT NOT ONLY ACCOMPANY HER SINGING BUT ALSO SET A SWINGING MOOD OF THEIR OWN. THE INSTRUMENTATIONAL PORTION OF THE RECORDING ADDS GREATLY TO THE PERFORMANCE WHILE GIVING YARDENA A STRONG PLATFORM FROM WHICH TO EXPOUND. YARDENA IS BY NO MEANS A TIMID VOCALIST. SHE BELTS OUT THE TUNES WITH FORCEFULNESS TO ACCOMPANY THE EARTHINESS THAT PERMEATES THE SESSION. THE COMBINATION OF THE STRONG INSTRUMENTAL COALITION WITH YARDENA'S BOLD SINGING MAKES THE RECORDING ENJOYABLE...IT IS VOCAL JAZZ WITH UMPH...
