The year was 1976 and guitarist Mike Fageros had just come off the road with Latin trumpeteer Luis Gasca(Fantasy Records/Little Giant) and had joined ranks with drummer Bill Maddox and bassist Spencer Starnes(formerly of the Electromagnets/Eric Johnson)along with noted latin-jazz bandleader, keyboardist Robert "Beto" Skiles of the noted Austin Texas group "Beto y Los Fairlaines".

Simultaneously, Mike was working with drummer/producer David Prater(Dream Theatre)bassist Kyle Pilgrim and keyboardist Neal Pedersen.

The compiliation of material known now as "Spontaneous Combustion", includes four original tracks by Mike Fageros that feature all the musicians. The influences are jazz-rock/funk/R&B/Soul Jazz along with Latin Jazz.

The session was recorded at Dallasonic Studios in Dallas TX. at the request of producer Mark Meyerson of ABC Records and was slated as a demo for a record contract. The material however, was deemed "uncommercial" by ABC because Fageros and company refused to "sell out".

Now with the help of the internet, you the listener have the opportunity to purchase this historical CD entitled "Spontaneous Combustion".

PS-- You will dig the liner notes!
