In 1979, I formed the first of a series of ensembles, using a rhythm section and instruments normally associated with classical music. This group is the 4th incarnation and also the finest.

The CD features: Jeff Raheb - guitars, Mark Feldman - violin, Michael Rabinowitz - bassoon, Charlie Haynes - sax, flute, Neil Conaty & Dave Richards - bass, Chris Hughes - drums, Guillermo Franco - percussion

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Jeff Raheb is an eclectic artist whose work fuses a variety of elements from jazz, Brazilian, Middle Eastern and contemporary musical styles in pursuit of a new musical language.

Mr. Raheb has written nearly 200 works for small and large ensembles. His music has been performed in the U.S., Europe and Australia. He has been a featured composer on WBGO, WBAI, WKCR, WNYC and WBVD radio in New York.

Mr. Raheb is also a member of the BMI Jazz Composers Orchestra workshop and leads his own 18 piece jazz orchestra.

He was a finalist on the 2001 Julius Hemphill Jazz Orchestra Composition competition.
