Steeped in the tradition of classic Swing artists such as Cab Calloway and the Bop Vocalese of Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, Za Zu Zaz will take you on a journey of musical styles with the seemless fluidity of the Manhattan Transfer.

Formed in the fertile New Jersey music scene of the 1970's Za Zu Zaz quickly moved from the club circuit to such major venues as the Newport Jazz Festival, the Roxy in LA and Wolf Trap.

Their most recent recording "An Evening With Za Zu Zaz" captures them live and swingin' at a sold out performance at The Tabernacle on May 15, 1999.

CHECK OUT THEIR BIOs:

Grover Kemble, lead guitar and vocals has written and recorded with many artists including Melissa Manchester and John Pizzarelli. Before Za Zu Zaz his biggest claim to fame was a stint with Sha Na Na singin' and dancin' up a storm while wearing on of those snazzy gold outfits!

Machan Taylor is one of modern music's most in demand singers. Her list of collaborations includes Pink Floyd, George Benson and most recently Sting. Her scat singing will floor you and her ballads will melt you.Along with all that vocalizing her rhythm guitar chops are the best on the planet!

Tim Solook on drums lives in Houston, Texas where he is "Drummer du jour". His list of credits includes work with Freddie Hubbard and Monty Alexander. Check out his work with the Houston Jazz Trio (available here at CD BABY).

John Gatti, keyboards, clarinet and vocals is one of the New York area's most sought after session players. It's a safe bet that no matter where you live in North America you've heard him on a movie soundtrack or jingle.

Dave Miller on bass and vocals is also very active in the East Coast session scene. His performance and recording credits include work with John Pizzarelli, the Greaseman and Annie Ross. His compositions and arrangements have been heard everywhere from radio and movies to big bands.
