Re-released with two bonus tracks, this Walker & Kays offering has been long awaited. Here are vocal jazz harmonies whose freshness belies the original recording date of their debut 'album.' Arranger and guitarist Greg Walker with creative partner and vocalist, Jeanette Kays remain a solid fixture in the world of jazz vocals, with their own renditions of Latin, American Songbook plus their compositions. "Just In Town For The Derby" was recorded with John Pietrus on bass and Nikki Lampkin on percussion. John now lives in Colorado and spends much of his time traveling with other musical groups. Nikki studied with Sergio Mendes' players during his time in California and that expertise clearly shows here. The unique sound created by Walker & Kays is reminiscent of the Hi-Lo's or Lambert, Hendricks and Ross. Of course, that sound was later picked up by The Manhattan Transfer and quite a few other groups. These tracks (except for the two bonus tunes) were transferred from vinyl and re-mastered. This 1978 'record' just may become your favorite 21st century CD! Check out the artist's website: http://www.walkerandkays.com Track List: 1. I Believe In You 2. This Masquerade 3.
