Actually, unless you count "Nga, nga, nga!" as a speech, VaVa LaVoom leaves us utterly speechless! And so . . . HERE'S WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING! "VaVa sounds as good as she looks!" - Valerie Verlinky, Miss Animation 2004 "She's my favourite space age diva!" - Heather Kenyon, Animation World Magazine "There are only two words to describe VaVa, and both of them are "Hubba!"" - Jonathan Frankel, author of forthcoming "Beyond the Ink and Paint Department: The History of Women in Animation" "Oofty!" - Rita Street, Animation Magazine "Will Ryan, VaVa LaVoom's personal Svengali, creates an out-of-this-world, Intergalactic-class, super-sonic sound environment you simply never want to leave! Diane Michelle's interpretive assist on VaVa's vocals, especially her sultry rendition of the Will Ryan evergreen "When the Cat's Away", gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "global warming"!" - Milt Fischer, "Jazzography" "The coolest!" - Jerry Beck, Cartoon Research "Zoix! And Double Zoix!!" - Elmo Aardvark, America's Original Animated Star "VaVa handles a song the same way she handles a space ship: with confidence, expertise and insinuating, mind-boggling flair!" - Albert Werner, President of The Interplanetary Council "Even if you don't have a knack for nuanced Intergalactic investment strategy, anyone with an ear for tasty music must concur: Obtaining this CD as quickly as is humanly possible is the only intelligent course of action!" - Gil Hunter, noted jazz critic * * * * * * * AND THIS JUST IN FROM VAVA'S PUBLICIST . . . Psssst! Want a hot tip? If you're the type of terrestrial who likes great pop music performed by a sultry and salubrious songstress of Outer Space, backed by some of the hippest jazz musicians in the Universe, then this CD has your name on it! Actually, it has VaVa LaVoom's name on it, but why quibble when we're talking about such a swell collection of brand new super sonic songs? Will Ryan, whose songs have been recorded by the Pointer Sister, Joanie Sommers, Diane Schuur and Patti LaBelle (as well as a slew of famous cartoon characters), was tapped by Audible Records to compose and produce the new CD. "It was an enjoyable challenge," says the busy hyphenate, "We had to come up with a fresh new sound to match the youthful intergalactic vitality of the artist: that voluptuous, velvet-voiced vision of verve and vivacity, VaVa LaVoom!" Anyone familiar with the weird, wacky musical world of famed ukulele-strumming Snappytoons cartoon star Elmo Aardvark will need no introduction to VaVa LaVoom. She's the Woman who made Outer Space the place Man wants to conquer! And she sings like no one on Earth! While top session players provide most of the instrumental backing on the new CD, Elmo Aardvark himself actually provides the hot ukulele strumming heard on the title track, "Modern Music fromOuter Space". "Although VaVa's record label, Audible Records, is headquartered in Los Angeles, the sultry songstress actually records all of her music in Outer Space," reveals the CD's writer/producer Will Ryan. "After all, she was born there, it's convenient to the freeways and Outer Space is where most of her musicians find their inspiration." VaVa is a talented and salubrious professional whose accomplishments are many and whose fame is Intergalactic. But, as she constantly points out to drooling acolytes, she has not done it all alone. Miss LaVoom freely acknowledges the fine contributions of her support team of personal assistants, media representatives, wardrobe people, set designers, arrangers, musicians and lighting technicians. "It's all in the lighting, really," coos the modest bombshell. In regards to the current CD, she would also like to express her personal appreciation to Will Ryan, who helps out by writing and producing her songs. "He's so sweet!" chirps the fetching songbird, "If he weren't married to his work I'd love to have his babies. Or at least a few of his cousins!" Miss LaVoom also tips her Space Helmet to Diane Michelle, the talented actress/singer who helps her with her vocalizing. "The humble and anonymous efforts of such individuals as these have not gone unobserved," reveals VaVa, "I only hope I can continue to exceed the high standards which they have helped me to achieve." * * * * * * * * ABOUT AUDIBLE RECORDS Audible Records is a private Los Angeles-based record company founded in 1979 by hearing specialist/nasalette soloist Dr. Helmut Jaeger to promote jazz, folk and nasalette music. In the heart-felt words of Dr. Jaeger, "Anything but that droning vapidity that calls itself Disco!". In 1995, writer/producer Will Ryan was named Creative Director of the Soundtrack, Opera and Original Cast division of the company. VaVa LaVoom is the second cartoon character to sign an exclusive recording contract with Audible Records. Elmo Aardvark, her Snappytoons co-star and mentor, preceded her at the label. Ms LaVoom is, however, the first recording artist from Outer Space to pact with Audible Records. The company's long-time motto remains as true today as it ever was: "If it isn't an Audible Record, it's not worth listening to!" NOTE: Related CDs of ELMO AARDVARK are also available at "CDBaby.com". "COLLECT 'EM ALL!" ********************************************************** Track List: 1. Alpha Centauri Blues 2.
