Stephanie Bruce is a fresh voice in jazz. Her original compositions draw on a variety of influences including Tin Pan Alley, contemporary Brazilian, and sophisticated singer songwriters like Joni Mitchell. Her intelligent and poetic lyrics are framed in melodies and harmonic structures that have a strong jazz flavor. The traditional piano trio accompaniment is tastefully embellished by the addition of guitar, reeds, and accordian. Stephanie's voice has a multidimensional texture that can be intimate and reflective, or bold and playful. Her phrasing draws on years of listening to the great vocalists in jazz.
