If ever there were a time for music with a message, the time is now! For such a time as this, God presents SOTE' (Salt Of The Earth)! SOTE' is a Houston based ministry which is
composed of four lead vocalists, Diana "DJ" Johnson, Edith Jones, Shauna "Nikki" Sweat, and Tabatha C. Whitten (Boss Lady).

What is seemingly uncommon is very common for the ministry of SOTE'; for SOTE' seeks
opportunities to serve as oppose to platforms for stardom.

Established in 1994, by founder Tabatha C. Whitten, SOTE' has maintained a firm commitment to it's mission which is to go out into a hurting world to spread the love and good news of Jesus in a manner that provides much more than just good music. SOTE's primary focus is outreach to individuals who are less fortunate, those incarcerated in the prison system, those without a place to live (known as homeless), and to those who feel they've been forgotten.

In 1996, SOTE' began coordinating a city wide toy drive to benefit African American Children awaiting adoption through Texas Metropolitan One Child, Inc. SOTE's commitment to service resulted in SOTE' being the recipient of the 1999 Texas Gospel Announcers Guild 'Roy Humphries Service Award'.

Although committed to service, SOTE' is a national Gospel Recording Artist and has been
afforded opportunities to appear with Gospel Greats such as Shirley Ceasar, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, John P. Kee, and Commission. SOTE' has also shared in conferences with Evangelist Jackie McCullough, Rita Twiggs and Durneice Pace of the Anointed Pace Sisters. SOTE' has also been featured in stage plays: "Can You Hear The Horn", and "Lord I Know I've Been Blessed". SOTE' has been featured on local and national television networks: "On Fire For God", "Praise The Lord" and "The Debra Duncan Show".

SOTE' plans to continue their ministry of service and song; when asked about the future of the ministry, founder Tabatha C. Whitten replies, "We can be found doing more of the same!"
