Janet Marlow takes center stage with her mastery of the 10-string guitar, of which she is one of the few artists in the world who performs on one, as an applauded jazz vocalist and leader of the Janet Marlow Quartet. Her fresh, personal style delights audiences which includes the musical contributions of her husband, Alan Brennan on jazz violin, piano and percussion at venues such as the Lincoln Center Jazz Festival, the Texaco Jazz Festival and the Blue Note, NYC. Releasing her 8th CD this year, entitled "Latin Lover" establishes her world class stance as a composer enjoyed on radio playlists nationally. Janet Marlow has also dedicated herself as an educator with master classes and published works with Mel Bay Publications and as an advocate for inspiring children through music and an animal lover through her recent recording Relaxation Music for Dogs and Cats. Born in London, Janet Marlow is the fifth generation of noted Russian musicians. Classically trained, she studied for fifteen years with Maestro Andres Segovia, Julian Bream, and Leo Brouwer. Marlow then became the protégé of Maestro Narciso Yepes, the innovator of the ten-string guitar. Moving from an all classical repertoire into jazz was a natural process for Janet Marlow. This evolution began in New York where she was influenced by jazz legends Bill Evans and Joe Pass Spending time with great players in the midst of the New York City jazz scene led to her creating original compositions for ten-string guitar with Quartet and arrangements with jazz singing.
