Niki Haris, the daughter of Grammy nominated jazz pianist Gene Haris, grew up in Benton Harbor, Michigan, an hour or so outside of Detroit. Niki attended college in Southern California and began pursuing her professional singing career in small clubs and venues in and around Los Angeles. Niki's own musical childhood exposed her to a wide variety of music and that versatility is now reflected in her own vocal career. From her inauspicious beginnings Niki has gone on to work and record with some of music's most dynamic performers in the world of Pop, R&B, Rock, and Jazz. Names that include Ray Charles, Carlos Santana, David Sanborn, Patrice Rushen, Michael Sembello, Wilton Felder of the Jazz Crusaders, Stanley Turrentine, The Righteous Brothers, Julian Lennon, Anita Baker, Mick Jagger, Whitney Houston, Madonna, and many others. Niki's vocal film work has been featured on the soundtracks of Whoopi Goldberg's "Corrina Corrina", Dream Works "The Big Green", "Coyote Ugly" with Leann Rimes and Disney's "Anastasia". Her small screen work includes multiple television themes as well as co-writing and performing two songs for the Fox series "Dark Angel". Niki hasn't resigned herself to complementing film works through soundtracks only having appeared alongside Al Pacino & Robert Deniro in "Heat", stared in Bruce Willis' tribute to Billie Holiday "Billie's Song", and as the featured artist in HBO's special "Sandra After Dark". While recording and touring with Madonna the last sixteen years, Niki has built up her own loyal following both here in the US and abroad, touring regularly with her Jazz Band, Niki Haris & Friends, in addition to promoting her own Dance CD and partnering with Junior Vasquez in a remix of her International dance smash, "Dance Floor". Niki now has five CD's available through her own Label, Niki Music Inc. The material runs the gamut, Jazz, Dance, and finally, Gospel. Not one to rest on pass success', Niki plans to begin touring late summer of 2003 with the world renowned Rufus, stepping into one of R&B's most famous vocal leads. All this with the addition of Ms. Jordan Ann. Niki's most recent addition to her family and musical entourage. Ms. Jordan Ann was born February 20th, 2003 and has served as even greater inspiration for Niki to keep on keeping on.
