Linda Peterson began her singing career at the age of two in her hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota performing on many radio and TV shows, as well as singing on numerous commercials. She is a member of the renowned musical "Petersons," first family of jazz in the Twin Cities. Linda has been delighting audiences internationally with her unique piano and vocal stylings for more than 20 years. She has three CDs to her credit, two of which were recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the most recent,"Jazz After Hours" recorded stateside. They have earned her international recognition as a respected jazz vocalist. She has recently received a stellar review in the Los Angeles Times for her appearance there at the famed "Jazz Bakery." Linda appears regularly at Harrah's Casino, Lake Tahoe, and enjoys repeat engagements at the Sheraton Hotel, Stockholm, Sweden. When in the states, she regularly appears at the Marquette Hilton International, in her hometown of Minneapolis. Linda looks forward to wintering in the Cocoa Beach, Florida area, where she is involved with their jazz society and performs at several of the local clubs. Quotes are as follows: "I first heard Linda several years ago. She was a fine singer. How could she not be, having been raised in such a renowned jazz family? This CD shows Linda at her full musical maturity. She has an innate jazz feel, impeccable pitch, excellent choice of material, her own unique sound, and the best musicians to accompany her. Rare are the singers who are consumed by music and who cannot imagine a life outside jazz, no matter what the dues. I believe that Linda Peterson is one of the hell-bent, straight-ahead-no-matter-what singers. -Chan Parker (widow of Charlie Parker, aka "Bird") "When Linda Peterson talks about getting together for a jam session, she isn't kidding. The Minneapoliis-based jazz singer can assemble a world-class band just by making a few phone calls to family members, including brother Billy, bassist for the Steve Miller Band, brother Ricky, who plays keyboards with David Sanborn, or little brother, Paul, who is musical director for Donny Osmond. The musical lineage doesn't miss a beat with Linda Peterson. She has matured into a splendid jazz performer. Her voice has an appealingly burry, late-night edge, and her phrasing is rich with blues-tinged melodic alterations. Equally important, she sings with great respect for both music and lyrics. Like Carmen McRae, Peterson is a good enough pianist to supply substantial and fittingly intimate self-accompaniment." -Don Heckman, Los Angeles Times Check out the artist's website: http://www.PaulPeterson.com Track List: 1.
