Fay Victor, an up an coming jazz singer in the European scene has given all who have listened something good to talk about. A native of Trinidad and Tobago and raised in New York City, Fay started her career doing clubs and concerts around the NY metropolitan area. She has appeared at Birdland's, The Village Gate, Copelands, Dean Street and B. Smith's just to name a few. She has performed with the likes of Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Walter Booker, Yuron Israel, Don Braden and Bertha Hope, amongst others. Since moving to Europe, she has been the featured vocalist for concerts, festivals and club dates in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Spain, Russia, Japan ,Andorra, Mexico and India. In 1998, Fay Victor's CD "In My Own Room" was released on the Dutch label, Timeless Records. The CD has received great reviews in the US, France, Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany and has started the process of establishing her as an up and coming force amongst jazz vocalists. Fay is now busy working on her next CD which will be released in April 2001on Timeless Records. On the invitation of Jazz India, Fay was one of the featured vocalists of the All Vocal Jazz Yatra Festival that was held in the Indian cities of Bombay, New Dehli and Poona in January 2000 and she has been invited back to India to perform at the JazzYatra festival in March 2001, the only international artist to appear at consecutive Yatras in it's 25 year history.
