THE A.J. LOVE TRIBE

Funk/Jazz from Madison WI, improvisational in nature with a raw, live sound.

Using a polyrythmic approach to the bass and drums (as opposed to one "locked-in" traditional style groove), the music takes a "avante-garde" approach to funk/jazz.

Electric bassist A.J. Love has performed with Buddy Miles and Clyde Stubblefield, toured all over the United States, and has performed at many festivals including the Isthmus Jazz Festival and The Taste of Madison in Madison WI.

Sax player Paul Daugherty is a member of the New Breed Quintet as well as Clyde Stubblefield's band, and performed briefly with the New Orleans band "Galactic".

Drummer Rick Flowers is a true virtuoso who has performed with dozens of different artists over the course of his 3 plus decades in the music business.

A.J. Love is a passionately independent DIY musician/producer who runs his own record label (Road Cat Records, which includes a CD by the punk rock band Sunspot).
