Robert DiMaio grew up in Jamestown, New York. He moved to Boston in 1995 to attend Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee, Robert studied Composition and Performance with the likes of Jon Finn and Tomo Fujita. In 1999 Robert moved to Asheville, North Carolina. Two years later he formed Hiding Place Records. He started the label as a means to put out his original material. The debut release on Hiding Place Records is "Deepin the Mystery." It was released in April of 2003. The next phase begins this year when Robert releases his follow-up to Deepin the Mystery. The new album promises to be better in every way. It is a concept-style album. Sonically it focuses on the joy and genius that is the electric guitar, but thematically it celebrates beauty and pleasure in all its forms. Robert is highlighting his rock roots while incorporating a vast number of other stylistic elements to take you on a titilating journey. Look for it sometime in 2006.
