All Genres > Jazz > Jazz Fusion > J'VAUNTE: Area 51

Area 51 is the flagship album from the Got Beats Recording label, hailing out of Detroit, MI. Not only is this piece composed, but also written by the Executive Producer of the label, Brian Garrett( J'Vaunte). Get ready for a calming journey of jazz fusion from R&B to House. Startup: "Desert Sands" is the song that relaxes the mind and soothes the soul. "Brimstone Orange" brings an electronica feel, propelling you effortlessly thru the first quarter of the CD. Making a retro turn, "Black-n-White" takes you back to "The Roaring 20's" with it's Big Band Swing sound. "Sax in the desert" slows the pace before "Believe in Life" thrust the album into the R&B realm. Who couldn't use a "Journey to Puerto Vierto" rounding off the CD, adding a taste of House to the last leg of the voyage. Enjoy your ride.

This hot new recording label out of Detroit, MI. is geared to bring many genres of music for many different people from all walks of life. The recording label was founded earlier this year by the creative genius of Gary Felton & Brian Garrett.

Gary (Gie) was born in Detroit circa 1973. Raised on Detroit's westside, Gary found his 12th St. neighborhood to have a "stay busy or stay in trouble" mentality. This attitude prompted many youths in and around the neighborhood to pursue their talents. Some played sports, mostly basketball, others chose music or haircutting. Knowing there was money to be made more than one way, Gary involved himself with the latter two. While Attending Murray-Wright high, Gary soon crossed paths with Eugene Jordan, forming a talented rap group and establishing a friendship that has lasted for over 15 years.

Brian Garrett, was born in Detroit, circa 1970. Raised on the westside in the Linwood/ Davison Area. Always having a gift for music, Brian started at an early age. While attending Central H.S. he studied music and was also drum major of the band. After graduation, Brian pursued his musical interest even further, learning the art of "house" dancing and later joining Aretha Franklins' show on tour. While not on tour, Brian would make his mark on a slew of artist albums, producing, arranging, and also playing live instruments: Rewind back to 1991: As fate would have it, Brian happens to be on the same bus ride home as two young aspiring talents, giving the other passengers a quick "flow session". From young to old, the people were impressed by the two. Brian expressed mutual feelings, to the point of asking Eugene if the group had a producer: In a nutshell.... you've just read history in the making!

After many moves and life experiences, Gary and Brian finally reconnected after a period of over two years. Brian presents Gary with a CD of material he explains to be something "different". NO NAME, NO TITLES. Once again..... you have just read history in the making! This album comes to be known as AREA 51, a fusion of jazz seamlessly blended with genres of music from R&B to house. Never to be outdone, J' Vaunte has mastered the art of music from live instrument to keyboardist extraordinaire. J' Vaunte "is music", and once you get a feel of the Area 51 album, you'll wonder what's in store next. Not one for surprises? Look out for an onslaught of music from the label, including the Hip-Hop instrumental album, The Beat Auction, & the highly anticipated Xpo compilation. This album will feature artist from the label and others. All music produced by Brian Garrett (J' Vaunte). This Is Got Beats Records. Are you ready for history in the making?
