Janek moved from London to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music in 1998 and, just three semesters later, had moved to New York City to begin life in the center of the world's improvised music scene. Still in his mid-twenties, he has collaborated with a host of musicians, including: Airto Moirera, Flora Purim, Hiram Bullock, Kenwood Dennard, Randy Brecker, Rick Margitza, Lew Solof, Jojo Mayer, JEM, Wayman Tisdale, Wayne Krantz, Adam Freeland, Dominique di Piazza, Paul Oakenfold, Cafe, Mike Phillips, Jeff Lorber, Gary Husband, Najee, Frank McComb, Stevie Winwood, and Ronny Jordan.

Now in his mid 20's Janek releases his debut album as a leader featuring some of the greatest young musicians on the international music scene.

Jojo mayer on drums who is a virtuoso and pioneer of the drumset.

Warner Brothers Recording artist Mark Turner on Tenor.

Saxophonist with the great Charlie Hunter John Ellis on Soprano and Bass Clarinet.

Associate Professor of Guitar at Berklee College of Music Tim Miller on Guitar.

Newest member of the Pat Metheny Group Gregoire Maret on harmonica
Multi instrumentalist and member of Gary Husband's "force Majour"Elliot Mason on Trombone, Bass Trumpet and keys.

Winner of the 2004 Thelonius Monk Competition Gretchen Parlato on vocals.

Fusing multiple horn writing, modern grooves and improvisation together, Janek is looking for a new voice in what is widely known as jazz, and hopes the listener is taken on as much of a journey listening to the album as all the musicians involved were taken on making it.
