Flat Out Funk Jazz!
"A churning beat, driving organ, guitar and bass, and tight horn parts, gets Vancouver sextet Crash's new CD off of the block's quickly."
- Vancouver Sun
"...the band laid down a ferocious groove and improvised with harmonic depth."
- The Courier, Vancouver, BC
"...funk dressed up with elements of swing and other good things to get the brain cells jumping."
- Montreal Jazz Festival
Crash is on a collision course with success! This groove-drenched sextet seeks inspiration from the funky groups of the 60's and 70's such as Cannonball Adderley, Dr. Lonnie Smith and James Brown as well as the more modern funksters like Maceo Parker and Medeski Martin and Wood.

Since 1997 Crash has been thrilling audiences nation wide with their brand of instrumental funk and establishing themselves as one of the Canada's premiere funky jazz groups. With 2 critically acclaimed CD's to their credit Crash has just released its third CD. "The Doctor Is In," which captures the quintet live at The Cellar Restaurant / Jazz Club with special guest Hammond B3 Organist Dr. Lonnie Smith.

The group including Dr. Lonnie Smith played sold out shows at The Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, The Blue Monk in Portland, The Yardbird Suite in Edmonton and The Beatniq in Calgary. The response from the tour was so enthusiastic that the group will be touring the Pacific Northwest again in January, 2005 and will follow that up with a National Canadian Tour.

Crash has been a fixture at the Vancouver Jazz Festival performing 5 years in a row. Other festival appearances include the prestigious Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Halifax Jazz Festival, the St. John's Jazz and Blues Festival, Aquafest in Hamilton, the Kaslo Jazz Festival, The Whistler Jazz and Blues Festival, The Gibsons Jazz Festival and the Victoria Jazz Festival.

Crash has been featured on Breakfast Television, Rogers Cable, Vancouver and Access Cable Halifax. They have been heard frequently on CBC Radio, 102.7 CFRO, CKNW as well as campus radio Canada wide. The Dr. Is In debuted at number 9 in its first week on Chart Attack and shot up to number four in a month.

Crash's music has also been featured in movies such as The Last Wedding, Moving Malcolm and Behind The Mascots.

"Fat chunks of thick funk energy leaping and bounding off the stage and, well, crashing around the room, inspiring some booty shakin' and makin' me grin."
- Terminal City, Vancouver, BC
