Not since Bobbi Humphrey has there been a serious female contemporary pop/jazz flautist to explode onto the contemporary music scene. To further tempt music fan's taste buds, Skinner adds from her triangle of talent her special blend of smooth jazz vocals and elegant piano styling to the table. With piano as an appetizer, contemporary flute as a main course and tantalizing, smooth jazz vocals for dessert, Skinner offers a full menu of original music and has something to satisfy anyone's appetite. Try a sample! "Sunday Afternoon" was taped "live" at the Kentucky Center for the Arts as part of the "Jazz Cabaret Series". Cheryl was assisted by Keith McCutchen on keyboards, Bob Bryant on bass, Dave Farris on drums and Tripp Bratton on percussion. The Kentucky Education Television network (KET) videotaped Skinner's Concert for use in a documentary. KET2 adopted "Go For Baroque" from the CD as the theme song for their weekly program "Mixed Media". The CD is dedicated to the memory of Susan B. Thompson an avid supporter of women in the arts who lost her fight for life to breast cancer. Part of the proceeds from this CD are donated to breast cancer education and prevention. The duplication and manufacturing funds were partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. Cheryl is currently producing her second CD "Shades of Blue". "Shades of Blue" reflects her artistry as a sound synthesist and introduces what she calls "Contemporary M.U.S.E" (Music Unleashed from Soul Experience").
