NOW ABOUT THE ARTIST:

In The Past:
Ben was born in St. Louis, MO. At the age of 8 his mother enrolled him in Casa, a conservatory School of Fine Arts in St. Louis, MO. He attended Casa for eleven years. At Casa, he studied different styles of music, theory and drumming such as classical, ragtime, folk, medieval, Latin jazz, big band and concert under the direction of Mr. Glenn (PaPa) Wright. While attending Casa he was exposed to several professional areas of gospel music and played with some of the best artists in the gospel industry such as John P. Kee, Marvin Winans, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Keith Staton, The Clark Sisters, Beau Williams, Helen Baylor, Yolanda Adams, Brenda Waters, and many others. Before moving to Houston in 1991, he worked at Shalamar Studios as a studio drummer and teacher for two years. He has played for many black gospel stage plays. He has also played for many crusades, conventions, and conferences which include T.D. Jakes, Rick Joyner, Dr. Handby, Creflo Dollar, and Don Meares. While living in Houston, he has appeared on television with different gospel groups many times: Bobby Jones, Debra Duncan, BET, TBN, Daystar, and many others. His drumming gift has been recorded on many albums and demos. He has judged for the National Drum Off Competitions in the past five years for Guitar Center and Mars Music stores under James Douglas. During that time he was the Band Coordinator for Southwest Baptist Church for three years with Ms. Anna Brown.

Present:
Mr. Richardson is a member of ASCAP, and in the past year has written over 300 songs and his live concerts have been off the chain. He has completed 4 Gospel Jazz albums:JAZZ ACCORDING TO GOSPEL Chapters 1 - 4 and Chapter 5 will be released this summer. One Gospel Rap CD. He has produced soundtracks for stage plays that have toured the states. He is presently working on a series of instructional video tapes for drums, bass, and guitar. He was recently asked to produce a talent search television show based out of Houston. His book titled "Life Before Adam" will be released this summer. Mr Richardson's clothing line was approved and has participated in the World Olympics, endorsed by Mary Onyali, who held the gold and bronze for the 100 and 200 meters. We are looking forward to seeing what avenue Mr. Richardson will be venturing next. Rumor has it his book "Life Before Adam" will be made into a motion picture in the near future.
