Deemed by one critic as "world jazz", singer/songwriter/pianist Adele Wilding performs groove-based jazz with an ambient crossover appeal. Adele combines finely crafted melodies, introspective lyrics and warm vocals to enhance tales of life and love. Her self-financed debut CD, "Emeralds (& Other Little Gems)", was released in May 2004 on her own indie label. The CD showcases Adele's original songs, as well as re-interpretations of the jazz standard "You Go to My Head" and Janis Joplin's "Move Over". "Emeralds" has been acclaimed by reviewers and professional jazz musicians from the UK, Europe, North America and South America.

Standout tracks include the bossa flavoured 'Autumn', the Caribbean inspired 'Coming Home', the haunting 'Hide An Emerald' (the first of a trilogy on the CD) and the reflective 'It Isn't Me'. Musical contributions are courtesy of some of the UK's finest players of jazz, popular and world music, including Jules Turner (tenor sax, clarinet), Mike Davidson (guitar, bass), Mark Simpson (drums) and acclaimed percussionist Volker Strater.

On New Year's Eve 2005, Adele released 'Sketches On Blue', a limited edition EP. Soundclips can be downloaded from her website. A full-length version is due out in 2006.

'Emeralds (& Other Little Gems)' was produced and arranged by Adele Wilding and co-produced by Steve Tsoi.
