Sarah James, singer, multi-instrumentalist/poet/composer joins with the gifted and talented pianist, Arturo O'Farill and Bob Ackerman, multi-reed expressive force, on this eclectic spoken word project. Sarah James is in the "International Who's Who of Poets" Anthology and appears in New Yorks poetry gatherings and featured readings. You can check out her poems on her official website........
Arturo O'Farrill's creative fire and expressive style,
provide complex lyrical textures that underline Sarah James's explorations of love, life and the human condition.
"The Ice King" features Sarah on soprano saxophone and outlines the process of journeying, estrangement, loss and redemption. "Dark Lady Moon" comments on the divine feminine, "Ode To Vaughn" is a tribute to jazz diva, Sarah Vaughn, and the title track, "Black Summer Sleep" is a rich
commentary on mysterious love and blue chocolates.
Bob Ackerman lights up all the other contributions on this project with resonant sound, unique melodic concepts and sensitive, daring musical interplay with words. "Fast Food Love", an ironic, playful and somewhat dark contribution, is a masterful combination of text and sounds!
