Born in 1998 and based in Boston, Massachusetts, INNOVATA is made up of top talent from New England and around the country. These musicians come from a pool of hand selected performers that have appeared with the Boston Symphony, Boston Ballet, Portland Symphony, Sao Paulo (Brazil) Symphony and with other leading orchestras and chamber groups around the world. The wide range of experience that each person brings to the group compliments the type of show INNOVATA is presenting.

An innovative organization, they cater to performing traditional brass quintet literature and constantly work at developing new sounds and styles. One of the most important focuses for INNOVATA is education. Wherever they travel, as a group or as individuals, INNOVATA always tried to make themselves available to as many young audiences as possible.

What makes INNOVATA unique? It's their attention to developing new ideas, concepts and styles that puts the brass quintet in a new light. Since their sold out debut performance INNOVATA is quickly establishing itself as one of the hottest and incomparable brass groups on the music scene today!

About "Brass a la carte".....

"Brass a la carte" is a wonderful collection of something for everyone! The selections on this CD represent INNOVATA's first efforts of "Chapter 1" of our move forward. Our mission is to reach out to audiences of all ages with the INNOVATA experience.

It has been important to perform the music of our GREAT masters from the Classical, Baroque, Renaissance, Romantic, Contemporary, Jazz, Dixieland and other important genres. Afterall, without these magnificent composers from these time periods INNOVATA wouldn't be where it is today!

"Brass a la carte" is just this. It's a collection of music from some of the greatest composers from a span of over 400 years! The first portion is more "Classical" in nature and the second is more of a "Pops" type. Listen to it by section or listen to the whole thing. It all depends on what your in the mood for!

INNOVATA is taking all of this further, one step at a time.

The last piece on this recording, "Karen" by Sanae Kanda, is very special to INNOVATA. It represents the first step in our next chapter because it was written specifically for us. As we continue to move forward on our trek more and more of the music you hear us perform will be original and unique only to INNOVATA.

ENJOY!
