Maria Farinha, born in San Paulo, Brazil, is a vocalist/composer in the traditional Bossa Nova/Samba style pioneered by the likes of Tom Jobim, Ivan Lins and Edu Lobo. Maria attended the Berklee School of Music and the University of South Florida in Tampa. She received critical acclaim on her first CD release, Planeta Banana, where she teamed up with Manfredo Fest to produce "Brazilian Jazz at it's most enjoyable", (Scott Yanow). She resides in San Paulo where she teaches and performs regularly.
