Renee Wood’s After Hours Big Band is a 14 piece band playing tunes from the big band era, classic and contemporary jazz, latin tunes and standards. If it’s great and you can dance to it, After Hours plays it! This band knows how to swing, it knows how to be tender and it knows how to play for dancers! Based in West Plains, Missouri, After Hours is the Ozarks’ premier big band, drawing people from southwest Missouri, northern Arkansas, and as far away as St. Louis, Springfield and Columbia to concerts and dance at the magnificently restored West Plains Opera House. For a big band to survive and prosper here in the Heart of the Ozarks where country music and bluegrass are king, they’ve got to be good and this band most certainly is.
