When ascribing motives to certain recordings, the words "labor of love" are often misused or overused--but not so in the case of Mike Longo's "I Miss You John," a heartfelt tribute to Dizzy Gillespie that musically expresses the deep love and respect felt for one of the century's giants of jazz by his longtime pianist, music director, and friend.
