About this recording: Don Learned and I have shared our love for drumming and jazz music for some time. When Don decided to open a jazz restaurant and approached me about playing there I jumped at the chance. The idea of having a venue to bring together top musicians in the city and have a regular showcase for my group really appealed to me. Every time we played there the musicians would comment on how great the room sounded. So I decided to record live to document the great sound we were creating. Recording live creates an energy and edge that is different from what you capture in a recording studio. Live is the real thing - jazz at it's best . . . turn it up!
