MOONDUST is a solo piano CD made up of several tunes from last year's "Jazz in the City" and new material. Wright's music is quite structured rather than improvised. Some of the tunes, such as "Antigravity", "Momentum". Saturday Night", and "Dreamscape", can easily fit into the "Smooth Jazz" category. The music is very pleasant and soothing to listen to. There are no hard edges or surprises, so it would be a lovely backdrop for an afternoon with a good book or a snooze by a cozy fire. I am a big fan of ragtime music, and enjoy the quiet end of it, which this is. Ragtime can both be very rollicking, and this CD is not. It is controlled and carefully played, as much classical music is. "Moondust" won't get your pulse racing, but it is a very pleasurable collection. It is available from
