In a posh studio right outside of Hollywood, California it's pretty ironic seeing two rap artists cheering for a Los Angeles Lakers team, who could probably use the two b-ball players this year. As the Los Angeles Lakers win their first game of the season in overtime the two seem to be satisfied and very optimistic. Telepath and 010 collectively the PICASSOS feel like west coast Hip Hop deserves a fresh start just like the Lakers have this year. Although the PICASSOS definitely get the ladies, it was their raw talent and determination that dazzled the A&R and eventually the CEO at Major Records. 010 says, "going into that meeting wasn't really that difficult because we came there to get something and we left their office with a Record deal". It's that type of focus, confidence and vision that seem to thread their Debut album the Renaissance together so nicely. The Renaissance album which is described by Telepath as a rebirth of Hip Hop music as we know it, seems to be just that. Opera, acoustic guitar, Middle Eastern music, west coast influences and even old school Hip Hop elements are found throughout this amazing album. It's no wonder the Pasadena, California natives call themselves the PICASSOS as stated by 010, "Hip hop is an art form, what we do is we paint pictures with words". With their charismatic personalities, talent and dynamic tendencies to create art out of Hip Hop music the PICASSOS have just began what seems to be, a long career that us art lovers are sure to enjoy.
