Release Date: July 25, 2003 Tired of limp CD's claiming to have artists from "the hood"? Tired of playing music that leaves your car stereo sounding bored. Well.... PaperTrail Productions has solved both of these problems. Beginning with THIS CD, 'The Ghetto Will Speak for Itself'. This album features West Coast Rap sound that is unique to the Bay Area. It features true mob music, fly-boy sounds, playerism, and some ghetto humor to round it off. Most importantly, this album is Sideshow Official. The ghetto album of the year has the Bay Area in "swerve mode". The CD: Production by Dj Sham. An Eazy E disciple, but not from LA. After working in LA for others, he returned to his Bay Area Roots and decided to start his own production company and studio. Several artists came to his studio (War Room Studio) in Richmond, CA. But he soon realized that some of the most talented artists had no backing. The hard-core artists, the ones who were from the streets and didn't have anything but the hustle they lived by... didn't have a way to get their music out there. So.... Sham took action. He took these unheard of artists and refined their skills. Then he produced the kind of M.O.B. music that oozes with confidence and realness. The result: Ice-Cold Heat Mobb Music: If you like Mobb music (If you like M.O.B music), you must get this album. Not only is it in the trunk, but the fire given by Detrimental, Big Mel, and Family Business makes this a hood classic. Detrimental makes an impression with 5 tracks that jump out at you. He starts the album out with "Gettin' It" and simply gets sicker as the album goes along. Gettin' It tells of his experiences makin money in the streets of Richmond. He ends his contributions with "Put That on Somethin'" which showcases Dj Sham's ability to not only put out mob music, but to make it fly enough to floss and sparkle. Detrimental has a solo album coming out called "Hazardous to Your Health". Peep the PaperTrail website to stay posted (http://www.papertrailmusic.com). Big Mel represents Oakland to the fullest. Extra-Mannish and representing 6-9. Mel is the underground. He represents what the underground is all about. People LOVE Mel. Uncompromising, violent, crafty, unique, hard, all are words that could be used to describe Big Mel. Not only did Sham bring this Underground savage to light, but he has him primed to release a solo album entitled "Da Coldis". Peep the preview of "Flame On" to get a taste of Mel's unique flow. Family Business (FMB) This group represents mob music with a twist. They come from Frisco and represent it to the fullest, but they mainly spit the real from all directions. "They' Gon" is a story about homies that have passed away due to the game. They come at it from a real angle and leave listeners feeling the realness of life. Their other song "Trouble, Trouble, Trouble" is simply mob music. Fly-Boy Music This is the kind of music that allows the listener tobe in full "Floss-mode". Dj Doe Fly-boy Doe. Tongue-twistin west coast rap. Doe is more than just a shirley-locked thug. His impressive skills on the mic speak for themselves. He has the ability to grab the listeners attention and hold it. The kid can straight spit. Period. "We Gon' Make" it is an uplifting song that everyone can relate to. Men and women alike love his style and that's why his songs are so popular. Sham Sham steps from behind the engineer booth to deliver one of the funniest songs of the summer. The song "Ugly Bitch" balances out this album. This is something everyone can relate to. Guys will laugh at it, women cringe and hope he's not talking about them. The truth about it is, EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS SONG IS TRUE. Lines such as these force you to laugh: "Look atcha, mad, cuz yo bitch got the cramps, While I'm off to tha sto' wit my bitch wit HELLA food-stamps." "My Bitch be makin BOMB ass Kool-Aid, While you over there losin' weight, When it's time to scrap my bitch aint even afraid." Sham's songs are laced with reality, that's what makes them hilarious. Nutt-So What's it Gonna Be features a driving beat and smooth delivery from Nutt-So. It's in the trunk, that's all that needs to be said. Tribute: The realness of the artists oozes from every song. However, there is a down-side. The lifestyle of the artists comes with a price; one of our artists was recently murdered in Oakland. We want to recognize young Tay for his contributions to Ice-Cold Heat, but also for being a cool ass youngster who tried to make somethin' out of nuthin'. R.I.P. Tay - "one of West Oakland's finest". His group, "Ghost" is currently being reshaped and will be heard from again. PaperTrail Productions is an independent label in the Bay Area of California.
