Live and direct from NYC, "Ertal Dawg", masters of musical ventriloquism, serve up deep-fried elastic beats to crowds in this galaxy and the next. "Ertal Dawg", the band, pays tribute and spreads the word of the grand master ventriloquist, Mr. Ertal Dawg. Who is Ertal Dawg? We can't tell you right now. But we can tell you about the band, and what we do. "Ertal Dawg" spans a wide-range of Electonica sub-categories: Dub, Drum n' Bass, Instrumental Hip Hop, Trip Hop, and House. The glue between all of these is trained, live West African percussion. Amon uses samplers, turn tables and other electronics to create soundscapes and beats. The beats that are composed have a heavy West African influence, but are not always played on West African instruments. So, the beats tend to be funky and polyrhythmic. Amon gets his samples from old dingy dolla' bin records. Melodies are free and inspired by jazz and his counterpart, Mona. Her voice is that of a Persian siren as she bathes in the sun in the Caspian Sea, singing into the wind. At the flick of his razor-sharp tongue, Mr. Shaffer tells everyone exactly what we're trying to say. You want to know more about us? Check out our website. Word. www.ertaldawg.com
